Every one of those boys is from the upstate NY mountains. Which, also happen to be my home-land and also take up more than half the state.
Never let anybody tell you that New York ain't Appalachian. To hell with NYC stereotypes!

The reason I like NY so much is because it's got both NYC and the scenery upstate. It wouldn't be much without both.

My roots are from SE Oklahoma so I see nothing wrong with that music!
Where you would call that Bluegrass, we would say it's just plain old mountain music.

I always called it mountain music. 
Of course... I'm one of those rare folks who's proud to be from the Appalachians. We may be hillbillies, but we aren't going to make you squeal like a pig. That only happens on Thursdays.
South east Oklahoma has the... I hope I spell this right... Quachita mountains or something right? Neighbors the southern Ozarks?
