For anyone who may be interested, I've sold a non-furry story to a mainstream (if small and low-budget) publisher. I find myself doing this more and more, as oddly enough it actually seems easier to sell stuff outside the fandom than in. The tale ("December Moth") was written around the time I saw the current economic mess coming, and employs a lot of the animal-symbolism techniques I learned here in the fandom.
If anyone wants to know more, it's for sale at http://www.midnightshowcase.com/midnight/HeartsTomorrow.htm
I'm also in negotiations with them to sell some furry stuff; we'll see how it comes out! |

Cool! Hope that goes well. The prices aren't bad at all, if I ever have real income I'll have to look into adding that to my collection. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!

Good on ya, and it's not surprising that it's easier to sell in the mainstream. From what I've seen goods in the fandom go for rather exorbitant amounts of about twice or more of an equivalent item in the mainstream. _________________ "Political Correctness is tyranny with manners." Charlton Heston

That is good news indeed!
Also 'low budget' still means it's available to a large audience, right?
If publishers are really so skittish when it comes to furry stuff, it's possible your efforts may change this, who knows?
I for one can't wait to hear how your negotiations turn out. |
