The referees have really screwed up the game from the beginning in this one, not the center ref but the line judge that gave the first goal to Argentina when the player was clearly off sides. This lead for the Mexico team to self-destruct. |
Indeed. No wonder all my friends from Mexico were kind of unhappy recently. And this wasn't the only time someone brought that up. That is one of the reasons I don't follow soccer so passionately: It's all riding on the whims of the referee or flag officers so much, other countries got robbed of a fair victory, IMHO. _________________ Hey, Sony... Congrats on that. I'd hope that Argentina is out of the final. Nothing against them, I just want to see Holland and Germany duke it out. _________________ Hey, Sony... IT'S PAYBACK TIME!

they had their last chance on a PK in extra time, right before the game was called and going into a shootout. The ball hit the top cross bar, Muhahaha. _________________ Fortune Cookie that I keep in my walet say's "Knowledge is the only good and Ignorance is the only evil."

Germany lost? Either they were very lucky to make it to here (and their luck ran out) or they screwed up at the last second.
I am rooting for Holland. _________________ Hey, Sony... IT'S PAYBACK TIME!

It was a very good game, but it was not the Germany team I saw throughout the whole World Cup Tournament that I saw play against Spain today. A little bit sad but their is always another time and they did have a lot of young players on the team. _________________ Fortune Cookie that I keep in my walet say's "Knowledge is the only good and Ignorance is the only evil."

The ONE World Cup game that I actually watched (because I was at a company lunch where the game was playing on the big screen TV). I saw the one goal that Spain scored, and the several that they *should* have scored. Either Spain was putting on a lot of pressure or Germany was just not up to their usual snuff yesterday. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

A report from Barcelona showed confident people. Not in the bars, oh no, all over the place.
Hmm.
I sure hope our team is going to be in control. But honestly, a game against our big neighbor would have been preferred. |
