Not long now until it's seven years since I went to the hospital to get repaired. Strange how it'll soon be a whole decade. Lots of changes in that time. Lots of things to think about and reminisce about. Mostly ... it's been good.
I'm a better person now than then, for sure. Much better.
And as per usual, I'll ask Bastion to please post something on the day. Probably a couple of chapters of "Defiance" since I've got plenty of that to go around |

I noted that many of your stories weren't on your list, but then assumed that they were all lumped in the category "Anything with Aslaug in it," so I chose that one. All of your stuff is good stuff, dear, it would be difficult to say which was "best." Overall I'd say that AVC was your crowning achievement (so far), but I would not necessarily assert that it was your best work, in my personal opinion.
I feel your best work is yet to come. I think that you are coming up on seven years into a much longer and more prolific career as an author. I'm tickled that I was around to see it all from the beginning, and quite proud to be your friend. And I am certainly looking forward to your future creations.

I have to agree with SC, you're only getting better
I stumbled onto your stories during trans II and I hope my writing will be as deep as yours one day.
And I don't know if it is appropriate but as you call it your "birthday".
I wish you a happy birthday, and hope for a lot more years of your writing.

Seven ... hmmm ... long as you're working your way forward ...
Proper age-ing is a requirement - for wine, writing (and some other items of interest) ... [note that naturing is only part of age-ing] |

Darn verbose coyote', he said it all very well, so I'll just say ditto.
Happy Birthday!!

I donīt know if Birthday is the right word for this.
I think Rebirthday is a better term. Like a Pheonix out of the ash or better
like Aslaug after a furious battle when she leaves victorious the battlefield.
Many sayed it but you only get better with everything you write.
Happy Rebirtday Filly

Milady: You should have made it so someone could choose more than one of your writings. As I like everything you write, I just had a hard time getting into Witchhammer at first. _________________ Beware of strong drink for it can make you shoot at tax collectors... And Miss. |

Well, all your writing is pretty good. That said...
Thransitions I has had an extra emotional impact for me that makes it special.
What I kind of dislike about AVC and Witchhammer is that they read not like a book, but like a film script. Ok, they are supposed to be film scripts, but still... It's something about pacing and such. It's difficult to say exactly how that distracts me, but in some way they make the story feel like a Hollywood movie. A good one, but still a Hollywood movie. There are surprises, you can't tell the whole plot in advance or anything, but the craftmanship is somehow familiar. A lot about the way the story ends leave me with a sense of "I should have seen that coming". _________________ I'm a nut, but there are those who appreciate me for it. |

Happy Re-Birthday. It see it as too important events that happened on the same day. One was a death of something wrong for too long, and the birth of someone I love as one would love a sister.
As far as which is the better of stories I must say that I like Transitions I the best. AVC is arguably a better written story but there were certain parts that I found to disturbing to keep me reading, things that I will always have serious issues with. _________________ Bad moods are like hangovers, they eventually go away. - A. You have to remember that some of us don't check the forum very often. Hell I just started rereading Transitions again two weeks ago. And this is only part of PF I come to though I'll probably return to Raccoon's Bookshelf soon enough. _________________ Bad moods are like hangovers, they eventually go away. - A. Sigurd Olson |
