Oh damn I completely missed that didn't I okay here's one

Cathy has six pairs of black gloves and six pairs of brown gloves in her drawer. In complete darkness, how many gloves must she take from the drawer in order to be sure to get a pair that match? Think carefully!!

Eight, assuming she can determine by touch which hand a glove is for before selecting it. Select one right glove and seven left gloves (or vice versa).

My first impulse was to say three, which is the correct answer to a similar puzzle involving socks, but that doesn't work for gloves because gloves are not interchangeable between left and and right.

My second impulse was to say thirteen, which would be correct if you had to select the gloves without checking which hand they're for (you could draw up to twelve for the same hand). But then I realized that even in darkness you can tell whether a glove is left or right.

Edit: The above assumes she wants an opposite-handed pair of gloves, as would be the normal case for someone planning to wear the gloves. However, the problem statement could be interpreted to mean a matching pair in the sense of two gloves that exactly match. If that's the case, the answer is either three or five, depending on whether she can inspect by touch for handedness before selecting.
