After a long hiatus, a new fan fiction is up at James Bruner's ZZ Studios. Go read this story of what Zig has to put up with sometimes.

Oh, and Alex O'Whitt is in the mix, too.

read it here: HERE

Commentary here is welcome, as the ZZ Studio forums are not operational

Sorry, missed an "L" at the end. It works now.

Nice story.

Just one point.

Tomato juice doesn't remove skunk scent. There's no effect whatsoever, besides dyeing the fur pink...

There are commercial removers that does a good job, and then there's the Hydrogen Peroxide/Baking soda/dishwashing liquid mix which also seems to do a good job, at least according to Mythbusters.

Yes, I know 'everyone has heard about tomato juice as a remedy', but I'd expect a society with skunks in it to have learned the truth about this by now...

Interresting
Zig meet a stalker. I bet that there are more out there (the scene with the e-mail from a fan pops into my head)
And I aggree with anthony tomatojuice overlaids the musk like coffee.
But itīs a nice reference to the history.
when the furworld didnīt know about the Hydrogen Peroxide/Baking soda/dishwashing liquid mix. They had soap and tomatoes.
So I see it more as a saying.
And we all know how Zig and James like to bath Very Happy
Besides if you make a bath in a normal bathtube you will pay at least
250 Bucks (with the cheapest tomatojuice I found) Wink

Good one, TM! You had me doing a big fist-pump "YES!" when Zig was able to overcome her old fears and take down the stalker herself. As much as James and Alex want to protect her, it is really nice to see that she is quite capable of defending herself, even in dangerous situations.

I must admit, however, that Leroy was very clever in the way he cornered and trapped James & Alex. If Zig had still been pinned down by her own memories and fears, he might have made a clean enough getaway to warrant a manhunt or a hostage situation.

Thanks for a nice short, TM. Smile

Mostly of this family 4 carbon mercaptan or mercaptide.

That is H3C-CHSH-CH2-CH3 or H3C-CH-S-CH3-CH3 or others like this.

Kipling was once quoted as saying "the scent of a skunk is impossible to exaggerate, even for americans, it is beyond even them, and they know it." This was after the train he was riding on hit a skunk that went down spraying. Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes

Yes, she should be able to raise a stink, but how do you clean up the studio? Why not call her housekeeper? In the fanfiction she had found a descenting formula that she used.

I met a transplanted Brit that thought we were kidding about skunks, then he went Kayaking and at the overnight campsite, he (while answering the call of nature at 3 am) kicked what he thought was a housecat.

His fellow campers made him take a bath in the river (it is a trout stream an this was in October) and threatned to tie him to the bumper of the car on the way back to raleigh/durham. He is now a BELEVER in the power of the skunk. Rolling Eyes

Just a thought,

I could've said that, Anthony, but saying , "Let's go home for a nice Hydrogen Peroxide/Baking soda/Dishwashing liquid bath" just doesn't sound as cozy or sexy as the tomato juice line. Likewise Stink-free or any other. Plus, the cleaner the cleaning lady uses might be fine for surfaces or clothes, but on fur and skin, maybe not so good. true, a tub-full of tomato juice would likely be prohibitively expensive, but I think Zig could probably afford it, since it'd also be at least half water. Likely though, Tobi3B is correct, it's just a saying.

Also, this is a fan fiction. It isn't canon to ZZtS or the other fan fictions, as far as I know.

Wink I'm just sayin'

TM (P.S. Karou, we could say that, but we won't. Rolling Eyes )

I think that if Zig just mentioned 'A nice, warm bath' it would be enough for James...

As for the tomato juice myth, it's one I believe wouldn't exist in the furry universe. Too many chances of disproving it...

Don't worry, though...
I won't comment on any references to 'Lead balloons' or 'Flying like a glider made of concrete', if you happen to use any of those.
