This is why, when i think Micro$oft, I here the song "Mastermind" by Megadeath. If you listen to the lyrics, it makes perfect sense.

I think I'm going to go be ill now at the thought of 7. Shocked

For the people who were wondering about games, and how Win 7 will affect them, Windows 7 uses the same kernel supposedly that Vista did, so any games that ran fine on Vista should (in theory) run fine on Win 7.

I have played Battlefield 2142 on Win 7 (which is pre-Vista) and it ran fine once I updated Punkbuster.
(I assume Battlefield 2 will work the same)

If anyone plays the Co-op Survival Horror game "Killing Floor" that game does not work on the 64-bit version of Win 7.

Anyone who plays "Supreme Commander" and/or "Forged alliance" will be fine on both 32/64-bit versions.

This is all I have tested so far on Win 7. I will update when I have tested more if anyone is still interested.
If anyone would like me to test something specific, just reply or PM me and I will see what I can do.

Windows 7 is excelllent when it comes to driver support so far.

I have not had to manually locate and install drivers for anything I have plugged into it yet. (excluding my GPU) I normally have to install sound, on board Ethernet adapter and wireless adapter in windows XP.

I have Vista and it's not that bad. It would lock up when I first got it, but once I upgraded the memory, reset things so file extensions and hidden folders were visible, switched back to the original windows theme from memory-eating Vista style...

Never mind. It sucks. Give me 2000 Professional any day.

I ran windows 2000 on my old compy since 2004. I loved it, until the poor thing couldn't be upgraded anymore, and has become pretty much useless aside from web browsing. I had to upgrade, so I got a new puter, that came with Vista. It has worked decently with all my old games and whatnot. Although it is a supreme ass pain to try and fix any problems that do arise. So I will Not be upgrading to Windows 7. And I would have been happy keeping 2000 or XP instead of getting Vista.
