I got an email today that was tagged by Gmail as being from a dubious source. It claimed my WOW account password had been modified through the password recovery and that you should click the link DO NOT GO www.worldofwarcrtft.com DO NOT GO and enter your user name and password. This is outright BS, note the misspelling of craft in the url, this is an attempt at getting user names and passwords from incautious players.

Yeah good rule of thumb: When you get an email like that and you're not sure if it's fake or not, go to worldofwarcraft.com ON YOUR OWN, not by clicking the email link, and verify that your password still works.

Also good rule of thumb: Assume all emails like that are phishing. Just be safe about it and manually go to the worldofwarcraft.com site without clicking any links.

I'm beginning to miss you all horribly. It's so boring without having WoW . . .
I would play other games but I can't find anything of interest and I've actually only been on my computer for about 4 hours in the last 3 days.

It's really hard not having any work down here.
On that note, I finally have a goal, which is more than I could say for myself previously.

I'm going to get a part time job and Volunteer as an EMT and hopefully I'll be able to work up the money for the finalizing classes to become a paramedic!

Goals are so helpful. They gives direction.

My account got hacked the other day. Some gold farmer got in, sold all of my equipment, took all of my gold. I'm working with the GMs to see if I can get my stuff restored.

*sigh*

And before you ask:
-I did not share my account info with anyone
-I did not download any cheat plugins (only download plugins from curse.com)
-I did not go to any 'free WoW gold' websites or anything like that

I think it might have been one of my kids tried to download some game they found on the internet.

I now have my computer logon password protected as well screen saver password protected.

You didn't fall for one of those emails claiming that your account had been changed and asked you to click a link then enter your username and passwaord did you? I've gotten two of those.

If you haven't already, make sure your adware/spyware monitoring programs are current, and run them. I personally use AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

Ouch, tough Teric... I can probably help out if you like get some gold runs and help construct some decent gear for you if you like. Just tell me when you like me to be on and I will be happy to help. But right now, haven alot of fun with my Sister and Brother in-law guild on WoW, Cenarious server.

Good news! The game masters were very gracious and restored all of my characters' equipment over the weekend.

I have wiped and re-installed everything on my machine, and now have McAfee full suite on all three of my home computers.
