Just finished reading this, and my face is soaked with tears and my nose is stuffed solid.
Damn, Filly. Just ... damn ... _________________ Nicolai

That was a very inspired piece. I know it must have been tough just writing it.

I can't honestly say I enjoyed it. Admired it, respected it, awed by it, yes. Absolutely. Up to - hell - beyond your previous efforts, well beyond. Which is saying a lot.
Nor can I imagine how you were able to write it. Writing something like that would tear me to shreds, and then shred the pieces.
I will read it again, someday. Just not very soon. It's too intense. _________________ Nicolai

Let's just say I'm glad that I know where the keys are on my keyboard. I couldn't -see- them! It was indisputably the piece I've ever written that took the most out of me.
However, I do like the first-person form and the next Breachworld story will be written like that.
As for Till Next Time ... I thought it was one of those pieces that HAD to be written, no matter how awful it hurt to do so. |

I must say that this piece was *very* well-written, Aslaug. The stream-of-consciousness direct view of Gabby's thoughts was a different style of writing, but it definitely worked.
While you did touch on some of the reactions of the others, your main focus was on Gabby and her thoughts and feelings. You've laid bare the heart of this femme who is often the tougher of the bunch, and yet here we see her with legitimate, unrestrained grief at the loss of a dear friend and sister.
As a side note, I noticed you also added quite a few details here and there about different events throughout the series, giving just a bit more insight as to what happened and why.
A very touching work, Aslaug. Thank you for sharing it with us. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

I thought it was the perfect way of giving a bit of insight without going into too much detail, indeed |

*Snif*
That one belongs up there with hearbreakers such as a certain chapter of Tabitha...
If not above it on the list.

Damn it Sis I'm crying and my nose just started running. I wish I had read this earlier so I could have complained earlier when I was IMing with you last night, your morning.
I hope the book you're working on right now for publication is this well written 'cause if it is you'll have no trouble getting it published if the editor has half a bloody brain. _________________ Bad moods are like hangovers, they eventually go away. - A. Sigurd Olson |

I can recommend listening to "Angels Fall First" by Nightwish when reading this story, by the way. Although I should probably also recommend bringing out a few more tissues for it. |
