After all of the crud our heroes had to put up with for the past forty-odd chapters (and that's just in this Act), it's refreshing to see everyone enjoying some R&R. Well, perhaps with the possible exception or Arden, though compared to some of his earlier (mis)adventures, this shouldn't be all that bad (maybe. What would a young male like me know of such things? Rolling Eyes

). Seems that Nanuk's statement of Arden having to know what it is like to be female is still in effect.

However, our heroes are not out of the woods yet. Makes me very curious as to what Lakash is up to, but whatever it is, it's bound to be nasty.

Great work Hikaru! I can't wait to see what happens next!

I've got a seminar that runs Fri-Sun, so I'm going to do my BEST to get the next chapter done tomorrow...(playing hookie from work).

Hopefully I'll have it ready to go up Sat night/Sun morning.

There's something I don't really get at all. Why is Sha'Kull's body so damaged? Arden did it as a measure to ensure that no damage was done to Ruddygore?

One of the dangers of becoming a prominent player in the game is that soon everyone wants to nail your tail to the wall. Right now it seems that Arden has enemies not only in Heaven and Hell, but also with his former "employer" (for lack of a better term). Considering that he also has to deal with minor (and some not-so-minor) fourth party factions as well, it's amazing that he hasn't finally snapped and gone on a rampage to lay waste to the planes in order to destroy all enemies (and let's face it, he has no shortage of them). Even his relationship with Sheila is sketchy at best. It seems that his only refuge where he can trust anyone is back at ZZ Studios, and if Act I was any indication, he isn't safe there either. Arden is one extraordinarily strong-willed person just for getting through all this so far with some measure (as small as it may be) of sanity.

Haha, Lacrunch. Well Hikaru, that certainly does explain a few things. I'm also waiting with bated breath on what Lakash did to the tanto. Definitely not good, although it was good to see Sheila was aware that it had been moved, even if she dismissed it.

And when do we get to find out what that orb is all about? Smile

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with imprisoning the dragon - I mean obviously Arden knew what the orb was, and that it was something that could actually do something to him/her, I can only assume the dragon was scared of it, hence Arden asking Ruddy not to being the orb next time. I just didn't know exactly what it was or what it did, but it had me wondering. Smile

Nice smooth chapter yet again, by the way.
