I once knew a good song related to time that was rock, but I can't seem to quite remember the name of it, and when I try to remember the lyrics, I draw a blank. Guess it's just me tryin' too hard... :P
Jim Croce's 'Time In A Bottle' is a good song, as is Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time'.
Peace,

What about the offsprings "Ballad" Gone Away?
quote:
.....Leaving flowers on your grave shows that I still care.....
.....Taken away before your time, I cant deal, its so unfair.....
.....The world is so cold, now that you've Gone Away.....
.....Please let me trade, I would.....

Um, I have a question. What album is that on?
I was just hoping to get the full lyrics for that song. I like it.

Fits fairly well, no?
For those not inclined to follow the link, the CD title is Ixnay on the hombre (better late than never)
Glad I could contribute, at least a little

It does fit well! But there are more related songs, I just never know the names of 'em, nor can I remember the lyrics if I try (but they come when I don't want them to, go figure).

*changes 'life' to 'time' in the first line of the song: Maybe in another [time] I can find you there*
Now it fits perfectly! |

I think 'You can still be free' by Savage Garden would do great as end title.
Cool breeze and autum leaves
Slow motion daylight
A lone pair of watchful eyes
Oversee the living
Feel the presence all around
A tortured soul
A wound unhealing
No regrets or promises
The past is gone
But you can still be free
If time will set you free |

Well, if Tabitha does end up calling Calvin, and spending time with him, I think The Tragically Hip's Ahead by a Century might be appropriate:
First thing we'd climb a tree
and maybe then we'd talk
or sit silently
and listen to our thoughts
with illusions of someday
casting a golden light
no dresss rehersal,
this is our life
You are ahead by a century
You are ahead by a century
Okay, maybe it's a long shot.

Hmmm... Perhaps Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' could be played at the very beginning at this florist, low in the background like it's coming from a radio. |

Time In A Bottle I think while Chris is watching the home movies at the beginning of chapter 6.
Ive thought about this for awhile, and Im interestd in making a anime style video of the offspring song I mentioned wayback in october. It'd be a collage of animated images starting with Tabbys visit to Sabbys grave and continue thru the major areas of the story.
*sniff*
It was very touching and moving writing by chris and James. |
