In the six degrees of separation, it only takes 6 people in your surrounding friends and family to keep you from knowing everyone in the world.
Hence, an assiocate I hardly knew: the partner of my friend who works for EMS (NYC's Emergency Medical Services). He's young, under 25; how unfortunate.
Last week, on Tuesday, he takes his motorcycle for a ride into New Jersey and gets into a serious accident. He lost his arm and at the time of the news when I recieved, was in a coma with massive internal injuries and may not survive the weekend.
As of yet, I have not recieved any updates, but again, he was not really a friend, but a friend of a friend and parnter of that friend in one the toughest jobs one can have.
What can I say, if like clock work continues to run, he may be next. I know I should not be talking like that. But in the truth of my mind, I know that its enevitable.
Well, must prepare for another funeral at worse, and though EMS workers can be tough as nails, when it involves a partner, they can be human in need of emotional support. Like always, I'll be there for them.
