Looks like this may be the first of the AC reports! (Then again, due to some considerable idiocy on my part, I have no pictures to post about the 'con. Sad )

My wife and I live about 2 hours from Philadelphia, so we drove down after we got out of work on Friday. Of course, there was a particularly ugly little thunderstorm zipping through, so it took longer to get there than we wanted.

The fun arose on Saturday. Ran into The Old Grey Raccoon and Assa, which was important, since my wife and I were the ones doing their handfasting. (Catspaw, for those who don't know, is my wife, and a Wiccan minister, capable of performing legally binding marriage ceremonies.) I actually just played the part of cabana boy for the ceremony. Laughing

After the ceremony (which I think went off beautifully, and there was general agreement about that), Mike took off to the Charity Auction, where he wanted to get a specific item. (I'll let him talk about that one - it's his story.) In the process of taking some stuff out to the vehicle, I made the mistake of walking in on the auction myself. I say this because I walked in just in time to see the auction start on a handmade sword. Beautiful work on this thing. The bidding started at $50, and someone immediately bid $100. It rapidly hit $120, and I finally got a good look at it. I bid $130, figuring that I could afford it, but that it would probably drive the bidding up.

Two minutes later, I was at my car, placing a sword that should have gone for $300 or $400 in the trunk.

The PF crew that I saw there were (in no particular order) Beau, Fish, Rava, Josh, TOGR, Assa, Khan, Cirrel, Iron Raptor (who really needs to learn to eat at these cons...Laughing...hallucinations are interesting...) and undoubtedly a number more whom I will remember only AFTER posting this. (To give you an idea of why it's a little difficult to remember who all I met: the convention was the largest they've had to date, with 1800 people verified at one point. They overflowed the Adams Mark, and then overflowed their overflow hotel.)

To be honest, I spent the con doing the one thing I do best - talking. I never even made it to any of the progamming for the convention. Laughing

There was some wonderful artwork zipping around the con, and oddly enough, I never got anyone to do a sketch for me! However, there are a few people I intend on hiring to do work for me.

All in all, whether or not I made it to any of the programming, it was fun as hell to see some of my PF friends like Josh, Rava, Khan, Mike and Chris again, and finally meet some of the others, like Cirrel, Fish, and IR.

I know this is short for a Con report, but I plead being very tired. I'll try to add more as I get more conscious.

I wish you'd been there too. I'll be honest with you, Concolor, if I could have afforded it, I would have sent you the money to permit that vacation you guys were going to take.

Obviously, that kind of cash was and is not readily available... #Puppy dog Sad

*chuckle* Concolor's not the only one who wishes he could've been there. However, I had neither the time nor money, it's an irrelevant point.

I will be waiting, though, to hear all the reports.

eagerly waiting,
Cateagle

Laughing HAHAHAHA!!

Good one, Nameless. No, that's what the Jews say at Passover. And few of them ever get to actually go to Jerusalem for the celebration.
