Shoot Tommy... I'm sorry to hear that about your father.
I will be facing the same situation. My father is losing his battle with prostate cancer and we are literally thankful for every extra day we get with him. I just wish I lived closer or had a better job so I could afford to visit more often.

Thanks. We are all as prepared as we possibly can be.

I wish we could get this place hopping again. Like the old days, when you couldn't keep up with the posts :p

Well guys... The docs told my dad he should make plans to say his good byes. He's been in the hospital for 3 weeks now without any hope for release. The cancer has completely spread throughout his body.
Hopefully we can scrounge up enough gas money to drive down in the next weekend or two. Hopefully my buddy can take care of the animals.
I'm not one to blubber online about my feelings... But maybe some digital hugs will help a bit? I don't know.

You know, I'm not sure whether knowing it's coming is better or worse than being surprised by a sudden loss due to cancer. My family has been fraught with cancer on both sides so I think I can say that I have an idea how you're feeling right now. It's never easy to deal with the pending loss of a loved one so I'm not sure what to say to help you find your way.

I'll keep you and your father in my prayers and I'll give you a big digital hug to give you the strength to make it through this trying time in your life.

I'm here for you if you need me. Just PM me.

Kel

Thanks dude. I scrounged up enough for us all to go down.
My neighbor is going to take care of the sheep and my father in law is going to take care of the rabbits, fish, and bird. My friend who is whipping me back into shape is taking the dogs.
Man, its a pain finding folks to watch the animals whenever we leave.

They are releasing my dad from the hospital for "home care" which is basically a nurse checks in on him and mom to make sure evertlything is going OK I guess. There isn't anything else the hospital can do for him.

Well, I've been down here in NY to visit my parents since Thurs. Friday afternoon all hell broke out. Dad was rushed to the hospital via ambulance because he lost use of his legs and had an immense pain coming from them.
X rays show nothing, so the prevailing theory is another tumor is growing in his spine and is pressing against the nerves that send the signals to his legs. Not even morphine is cutting the pain.
I would have given up a long time ago.

Mom is drained. I can see it in her face. Both my parents are incredibly strong.

Thanks Kellan. I'm not one to gush my feelings and I do feel a little foolish doing so... But it definitely seems to help.

Okay so this is gonna sound corny and stupid but...

I'm flat out lonely.

I haven't had a life of my own since 2014 robbed me of everything. I rarely get to see any of my friends (once a year kind of rare). Most of my family I don't get along with or relate to.

I miss this place. I miss my life. I miss just being part of something.

I have thousands of followers over several sites where I post my art. My work is appreciated and I am lucky and thankful for that. But my personal life is so empty and depressing.

I want nothing more than to just hang out with the ol' gang at MFM or just... have a life again.

I'm somehow back to where I was in 2005 when I first joined. Alone.

Sad

Sadly my brother Bobby Ray Stone passed away in his sleep yesterday morning. I ask that you keep his son and daughter, Andrew and Kimberly in your thoughts and Prayers...

Crying or Very sad
