Thank you all. It's good to be well enough to put in an appearance. I appreciate your warm thoughts and greetings.
I just posted again, a few images from the weekend. And I've been working on the "Eastern Sierra" album a little bit too. Should be fun making that go live.
Gotta git, but I'll be around. Later ...

Really beautiful pics, SC. Wish and pray for all the ag folks out there, as I just heard the announcement that they're not getting any irrigation water this year.
Must be a heckova place to put up with all y'all have to put up with out there.

Well, Woodward Reservoir here in NorCal is most likely going to be shut down for watersports this year, since it's practically empty. Woodward is a major source of irrigation water here in the central valley.
We just flat need rain, and lots of it.

All of the big reservoirs in the state, and for that matter in the southwest (think: Mead, Powell) are down significantly.
In the 1980s Lake Mead was at an elevation of around 1210 feet, today it is less the 1110 feet (100 feet down). Lake Powell is nearly 125 feet down.
Most of the state's major reservoirs are below 60% capacity, some are below 50%, and at least one is below 40%. (I read this data just a couple of days ago in a release from the Governor's Office of Emergency Services which I have since deleted, otherwise I'd be more specific.)
And of course we just recently learned that the agricultural industry in our Central and San Joaquin Valleys, historic orchard and bread basket for California and the West, will get NO water from the Bay Delta and the State Water Project. That's a new one, and has a lot of folks asking "whiskey tango fox" rather loudly in the halls and offices of the capitol.
Welcome to 2014! It's going to be a hell of a fire season out west, and already is in California. There's practically no snow in the Sierra, and none in my local mountains. No rain of significance this season, although the TV prognosticators with all their high-powered and expensive equipment are gleefully forecasting rain for later this week. And we all know those guys are never wrong ... (Just sayin' T. I know that some weather-guessers are much better at their trade than others.)
Thank you for the feedback on the images. The writing will return sooner or later, for now I console myself with my other supposed art. I appreciate all of you very much.
