Guys, thanks for the comments... story-wise there still is a bit of unfinished business that simply has to be taken care of first!
Like Cyril said: fat chance of displacing someone like Tabitha without repercussions. None of this would be a problem if Tabitha would suddenly show up again.
Edit:
I've wondered before if there are any rules/guidelines to switching story-lines. My idea is that now with Greg/Tabitha, and before with Maria/Cally I'm asking rather a lot of my readers' patience.
Allow me to link in an example that I'm sure you'll recognize: when I was reading ZigZag the story I didn't get a 'when does he get back to the story' feeling.
Syrius compared switching story-lines with a movie, inferring one's feeling as to how much characters appeared yet. I think he's right, in the end it'll be my decision about how much time I spend on any character. Yet I'm hoping to pick up something from this forum with all the writers/readers. And if you will, please share your view on this. |

Well, this is a new twist.
Not charged for one thing, then charged with another!

So that's where, a WWIII modular orbital, though I do think they did missed the time slot for having company (would they really want it?)... |

WWIII?
I checked my timeline of that world, but I think I end up with wwIV because of a similar destruction happened twice since the wwII equivalent.
Don't believe mankind (or its equivalent) would learn from such destruction. Give a century and it's all back to 'we should clobber them over the head for a bit'. |

That was a good set of chapters, tijn.
An amazing set, too. I was sure Tabitha would have sprayed Greg before it was over.
Now the question lies in the facts as they are laid out; Greg goes exploring a new world where gold seems very plentiful. Will he enjoy the quest?
As a side, is lead a precious metal on that world?
Will Tabitha learn to lighten up, take a deep breath and learn to enjoy the things around her? Will she beat her OCD? Will she listen to Dr. Brunner?
And I think we all know Maria will be pissed.
Good work!

Thanks for the comments guys, thanks for hanging in there until these chapters too!
Actually, the spraying had not crossed my mind. I do believe the resulting 'Greg' would be lethal to our determined skunkette. I would not put it beyond Tabitha to realize this.
Kel, I think I missed out on a few nice situations for the story, sparked by your comments.
One comment on the orbital station, Frazikar. They could not see China from there. That would have shown lights... lots of them. |

Did I miss (skip over) something somewhere in the last couple weeks? How did Johnny's body get from one universe to the other to allow Callie and Maria to bury him? _________________ "Cogito, ergo es. I think, therefore you is." Ray D. Tutto (King of the Moon) to Baron Munschaussen |

AD: Johnny's father transported him over as his dying wish...
Tijn: Depends on the timing, one way or another (hmmm could have been WWIV but that really throws the timing off, I think)...
As for splaying, on a closed-system station - with at up to ten days worth of breathing?? [Not only aren't the scrubbers that good, they weren't designed for that problem]?? |

Good point. If you were a skunk fur, you would no doubt be very aware of said air-quality problem. Skunk furs wouldn't go sniffing their musk/stink if they can help it, right?

Not in this story I'm afraid, but I did start on a continuation story with Greg. |

Frazikar, Although you surely didn't refer to the followig aspect, I believe the story 'Marching Morons' was written by a Cyril M. Kornbluth.
Yet I applaud your reference since the Cyril in this story certainly needed a bit of a reset for his near-eugenics views.
What's funny though is that at the time of publishing the Morons-story there was already scientific consensus on the view that a large gene-pool would yield better individuals than a narrow one. |

So, does this count as older and wiser?
So how's Greg doing now anyway... |
