The next chapter is written, but RL had been dragging me about a lot lately, and the end is still not in sight. Consider me on hiatus for right now, and I'll get back on teh story as I have time.
Thanks all.

I can't argue with that, but I just hope he doesn't take a card from...well not to call any names "hikaru", because just going back and reading a story over hoping that the rest is coming is not helping my addition.
Please don't leave your fans hanging!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Ach!! It's like "Deadliest Catch" meets "The Village People!!"
Too funny, and I didn't understand a word of it.

Well, I was just going to threaten you with it, but as I'm not that nice, here's a few lines of translation...
"Torsken kommer!"
(sung twice in the beginning)
= "The cod is coming!"
Text:
Hyse Høst
En fiske kabaret av
Egil Money-Version
Loosely translated to:
Cod Autumn (Hyse is another name for Cod)
A Fish cabaret (Pun on Cabaret as a show, and as some sort of jello-like food with bits of fish in it) by...
Egil Money-Version
The name is a joke about a composer and show director here, Egil Monn-Iversen.
"Se Torsken, Se Torsken..."
= See the Cod, See the Cod...
"En feit og fin og Norsk en,"
=A fat, fine and Norwegian...
"Torsken kommer nå"
= The Cod is coming now.
"Uten den kan verden ei bestå"
= Without it the world cannot last...
"Det fins ei en eneste fisk som er bedre enn torsk, faktisk"
= There are no fish that is better than cod, actually.
(Yes, the last word really doesn't flow with the tune)
"Det er da sant og visst"
= Can probably be translated to 'that's true and true'...
"Torsken passer inn"
= The cod fits in
"Se så feit og blank og fin"
= See so fat and shiny and beautiful...
"På bankene legger vi bi"
= On the banks we heave to.
"Så kaster vi garnene i"
= Then we throw the nets in.
"Og etterpå fester vi"
= And afterwards we party...
That's just about as much as I can take of that song in one sitting...
Please don't send me your Psychiatrist bill...
On a relatively unrelated note...

And another one, by the same comedian...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwPMSwinjhU&feature=related
Here heeplays a guy who has as a hobby to scare people. And he writes down who he scares and when...
I don't think a translation is needed for this episode... _________________ "My name's Lion, Anthony Lion"

While I haven't been able to watch the fishy stuff to the end, the others are fun.

'Ringy thingy'?
You mean the letter 'å'?
It's the last letter off the alphabet(Norwegian is so large that we needed three extra wovels... )
Incidentally, while the letters (æ, ø, å) exists in intenational codepages on computers, they're not in the correct order.
Thank you IBM, for making sorting algorithms hell to build...
Also, it's common to replace them with æ = ae, ø = oe, and å = aa when names and such is translated to english or other languages.
Except in email addresses...
There æ = e, ø = o and å = a
Another point to sorts, a lot of SW today will assume that a name beginning with Aa is a translation of Å, and move it to the end of the list. Which sucks for those who actually writes their names that way. _________________ "My name's Lion, Anthony Lion"

The same letters exist in the Danish alphabet, so we have the same problems as our Norwegian brethren in that regard. However, we have also long since figured out that it's not because OUR alphabet is weird ... it's because everyone else refuses to acknowledge its superiority, and consequently, we only change it for IT-purposes under stringent protest! |
