Hello folks.
Seeing as I've just sent off the fourteenth chapter of this story to my proofers, and seeing as I am nowhere near the end of it all yet, I think it's time to start a new topic for this one.
Comments for chapters 1-3 can still be found in the ALN/ALS string, but this storyline stands on its own by now and should have its own string.
BEAR IN MIND that this is still a collaborative effort, insofar as Kellan Meig'h's story, "End Game" is fully canon to "Defiance", and vice versa. I urge you all to read his story, which you can find on his site. Victoria and Torvald Svensen's side of the tale is told in that story. I'm telling Aslaug's and Joe Latrans' tale in mine.
Oh, and Varghöss. Let's not forget my new favorite, slightly psychotic 750 lbs war-wolf ... |

Ah, chapter 4 ... A very good chapter indeed.
(no spoilers given out, though)
Even though this is a parallel/canon story to my "End Game", I still feel like Aslaug is the lead writer.
Anyway, I'm glad this was posted so I can insert a small bit into "End Game" Chapter 8 to tie them together. The filly knows what I'm talking about.
If you think writing is tough, try doing a duo-story! I have to admit, because it's stretching my boundaries and my beliefs, I'm enjoying every single minute of it.
And Varghöss; what would a story be without a huge wolf for the ...
*feels a large wet nose 'sniffing' at his leg*
"Oh, Hi, Varghöss. Good wolf ..."
*backs away, only to have the huge canid follow, growling*
"Um, Aslaug? A little help?"
*keeps moving back, trying to dodge the huge tongue licking at him*
"Aslaug! Help!!"
*Attempts to keep from being a 'new' chew toy for the wolf*
"Help!!"
*Sounds of hooves on pavement followed closely by the clicking of canid claws*

why did I just get a picture of a game of Tetherball when the filly did that swing-around kick? *chuckles softly*
Good story Filly. And a bit twisty. I think we're all in for a wild ride. _________________ "I'm not sure yet, but it'll involve a bucket of sour cream, three carrots, an architect lamp and a lump hammer. Possibly a fish." -Jean LeBrun, Transitions Chapter 22
You have to admit, that is funny....and puts soooo many pictures in your head. |

Why do you think I expressedly described her as swinging like a tetherball after a good whack?
Still, I remember whincing when I tried to imagine what that kind of force would do to a face. |

Large rotational force + over 6 1/2' Filly + Iron Shod Hooves + ...not even going to guess the weight = hamburger. _________________ "I'm not sure yet, but it'll involve a bucket of sour cream, three carrots, an architect lamp and a lump hammer. Many a hunter became the hunted by following too close...
BTW, the HMTL doubled back to the Filly's salvation Army joke at the end... |

Now there's an image to think about, the filly going through the halls of the Vatican, with various members of the Swiss Guard behind her (Pike vs Axe!!)... |

Chapter 5 of "Defiance" is one of my favorites in this series. Once you read it, you'll know why.

Thanks Kellan I have others that I like better, though, but with the twist that the story is taking in the chapters I'm working on now ... I think I can safely promise some serious changes to the "universe". |
