I heard about that! It's from "US Navy", yes? A co-worker of mine who has friends in Colombia said she knew someone named that...

I grew up in a very Asian suburb (we got a large immigration wave before Hong Kong was given back to the People's Republic) and unfortunately, some of the westernized Chinese names just were a little, off.

"Jack Ng" (That's pronounced "ING") was an unfortunate favourite of mine, but some others were Winky Wong, Gogo Chen, Ceci Wong... good friend of mine even had the misfortune of being "Marco Ding"

thats it just R, i have yet to here any one with one like it, and do you have any idea how annoying it is when asked for a middle name for some document or other and they turn around and say "no sir we need your middle name not your initial"
You could change it to "Arrrr". Wink

I dunno what's stupider, that these parents would actually think up these names, or that Japan will one day seal themselves off from the rest of the world in order to turn their entire population into biometal slaves and/or mindless jagds.

some people just don't think about how their kids are people, and they're gonna grow up and have to live with these names. they may think it's cute or clever, but no one should have to live with a joke name.
I have a relative who had a kid at a young age and named him Atreyu, I just call him Trey

Hey I liked The Never Ending Story!

I had at once contemplated naming my first born son Exile that was along time ago. And if we do have a son, we're hoping for a girl when time comes, we'll name him Gavin Sigurd Olson

Yeah, I liked the never ending story too.... until recently when I met a particular fur. Something id rather not explain as the particular fur might be on here.

and having Danger as your middle name would be friggin awesome. I mean middle names arent something you really talk about that much. Its only when people ask or if you volunteer it, do anyone really learn your middle name, so having a cool middle name wouldnt be bad at all. Nobody would really know, and one day, youd be able to have some fun with it.

and yeah, I could understand banning many first names too. Just cant really ban last names, but how would you go about banning those funky combinations like Jack Mehoff and such. Someone would have to oversee people giving names when kids were born at hospitals. Which would mean youd have to have someone working for that particular purpose at every hospital out there. or just assign the duty to the nurses and have some higher ups sign off on it. Might get annoying for nurses, who Im sure already have enough odd things to do.
