Another classic comedian, and one of the earlier ones to "break the rules", is no longer with us. Evidently, Mr. Carlin had a history of heart problems, and the latest round got the better of him. He was 71.

its going to be a very depressing year for comedy. He was the one that kinda started telling everything as he saw... straight up and no BS. |

Not only was he an early rule-breaker, but easily the greatest of them all. What a genius! Mr. Carlin, we need you still. |

You will be missed Mr. Carlin you were more then an entertainer; some call you a rule breaker I say you were a fearless champion of free speech. _________________ "Political Correctness is tyranny with manners." Charlton Heston

That's a shame... he was funny, and I think in the end that's the greatest compliment that you can give a comedian. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

I really regret that I didn't see him when he did a show in Vegas the weekend before he died. I was considering going and then I got caught up in a bunch of other stuff. Now I wish I had gone instead. Carlin was one of my absolute favorite comedians. _________________ Changed my name to Kantaro. |
