Keep in mind that these numbers are only with 5 days of GTA IV at retail….
Hardware:
1. Wii - 714,200
2. Nintendo DS - 414,800
3. PSP - 192,000
4. Xbox 360 - 188,000
5. PlayStation 3 - 187,100
6. PlayStation 2 - 124,400
Software:
1. Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360) - 1,850,000
2. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - 1,120,000
3. Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) - 1,000,000
4. Wii Play (Wii) - 360,000
5. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) - 326,000
6. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue (PS3) - 224,000
7. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness (DS) - 202,000
8. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time (DS) - 202,000
9. Guitar Hero III (Wii) - 152,000
10. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360) - 141,000
Nintendo is completely DEMOLISHING the competition as far as console sales. Here I thought that once Blu-Ray won the Hi-Def war, the PS3 would start selling better. However, it doesn't look like that's panning out--the Wii out-sold the PS3 nearly 4-to-1 in April. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

If I want blu-ray, I'll buy a dedicated blu ray player. Not Sony's HypeStation. Granted, I love my PSP, but only because I could hack it. Otherwise, I would have never bought it. _________________ Hey, Sony... IT'S PAYBACK TIME!

Well, the PS3 isn't going to get any up in sales until they get a few good games rolling in. For in the end it's the games that will sell a console.
I think (as most experts do) that the market will eventually be shared more or less equally among Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony, with only a few percent difference. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

Well, mainly, the fact that the PS3 costs a ridiculous amount of money this long after release is probably hurting its sales, and the lack of really spectacular games isn't helping. _________________ Planetfurry moderator
