Woot. I liked it. To be honest, the beginning didn't draw me in, but after the wizard left the room, that's when I got interested. (Maybe because it reminds me of Harry Pothead, and I HAET it.) I like the character's non-belief in the deities of that world, hoping to see he later manages to conciliate both belief and fact later on. (which I must tell you, it's something I wanted to incorporate in my Shadows main character as well.) Trivia: "Eli" is one of the names of God in Hebrew.
The bit with the magic marionette was nice, as was his opening up to the kid for a moment, and your description of the mountains. I wish my descriptions were as rich and colorful as yours.
The vixen's doubts and exploring the full-animal form were very good. That's what drew me in the most. How she wonders what it would be like to give into instinct and primal state. (There is a small typo in that line in your story, I think you missed a "be".) Yet, she feels worried or afraid of fully losing whatever's left of human in her morphic appearance when she wakes up. I call that the jewel of the story. Well done. _________________ Hey, Sony... IT'S PAYBACK TIME!

Ha ha, I've never read Harry Potter, so I doubt much of what I will be writing in the future would be resembling it.
If you read other MK stories, you'll notice that most characters are very religious. I can only recall on other non-believer out of the hundreds of characters created, and he never had issues with it. This was one of the inspirations for making Virmir a staunch non-believer, and it will be a vital point in coming stories.
Thanks for the comments! The final scene was my favorite to write as well. Simple animal-hood enchants me, so I write about it a lot. _________________ - Kendo Virmir

Hey folks,
Another short one here:
"Awareness"
This one's a break in the action, as it's set several hundred years in the past. It's also sort of stands by itself.
Hope you enjoy! _________________ - Kendo Virmir
