|
|
Hi there. I'm using MS Outlook on one of my computers (on all others, I login to Squirrelmail), and I just discovered I can no longer SEND email from this client. Each time I try to send a message, I get the error "None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server."
Nothing has changed in my setup - it was working just fine a few days ago. I am able to login and retrieve my email - I just can't send anymore. Any help? _________________ > KieferSkunk |

I'm still having this problem. Anyone from the admin staff have any idea what's going on? _________________ > KieferSkunk |

Problem resolved - turned out my ISP's IP range somehow ended up in a spam blacklist and I was being blocked - combined with an Outlook 2007 behavior change.
For anyone else who ends up with a similar message, if you're using Outlook, go into your Account Settings >> More Settings >> Outgoing Mail, and set your authentication method to "Log on to incoming server before sending mail". That fixed the authentication side of the problem. _________________ > KieferSkunk |

Woa, good to hear you've got that figured out, KeiferSkunk. I wouldn't have had the faintest idea of what to do there...
That's freaky that your ISP got SPAM blacklisted. Maybe that's a signal to change ISP's? _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

Might be. I've been thinking about it, but so far, no really good reason to do so. My ISP is a little slow, but it's otherwise all right. _________________ > KieferSkunk |
