After a long time of trying to get in my account, I'm getting weird error messages from FTP:
"Unable to build Data Connection. Connection Timed Out."

It seems to be hanging there trying to connect, but nothing happens. I get the folder I'm supposed to be in, but its empty when it times out.

Furthermore- its only on my OS9 machine that does this. My OSX machine had a simmillar problem but it seemed to solved itself after a couple of days.

Unfortunately, I don't have a machine running Mac OS 9, and cannot replicate the issue on the few other machines I have access to (Linux, Windows, Intel Mac OS X, etc.). I've tried against a few clients on each, including the standard CLI ftp clients, lftp, gftp, WS_FTP Pro, etc.

If the problem is inconsistant, then it doesn't seem like the problem would be related to the server. Nothing has changed on it recently other than a few unrelated patches.

I'm looking into the problem. There are other people who have noted other issues with the FTP service, however most have been able to switch to SFTP without incident.
