The end of the clip shows the elapsed time and the top speed in KPH.

Despite the antics being very cute I can't help but wonder if the poor thing is rabid.

Doubtful. His actions were 50% scent marking actions (rolling over, rubbing muzzel against it) and probably 50% fun. The texture of the trapoline pad is very silky and I can see why he'd enjoy rubbing his face on it. Over all, he looks like he was having a good time, just looking around.

It was just trying out the different texture of the spring guard, you see the same behavior out of dogs when they come across something different. It's just they're way of exploring the world when they don't have thumbs.

Yea, a lot of wild animals chew stuff up or scratch stuff up. Dogs, and cats (mostly), have been selectively bred for thousands of years to not do that. Most people who get a dog that eats the couch, will take it to the pound--were it will languish until someone adopts it as an outdoor dog or until it runs out of time. And if it is adopted, the pound will spay or neuter it first. So it's "natural selection" at work--dogs that eat the furniture don't reproduce.

From what I've studied about foxes, that little fox (it looked young) was just being a normal fox. As Hikaru pointed out, it was scent marking by rubbing its chin and lips on the trampoline. Field researcher David McDonald raised several foxes then released them so he'd have "spies" in the field. He wrote about his first fox, Neff. When she was living with him she chewed or scratched just about everything she could reach in his bedroom, the kitchen, and the hallways (he was living in campus housing for staff members). When she was tiny she dug at his bedding and chewed his pillow, and she invented a fun game where she would furiously scratch at his scalp just as he'd doze off (she slept in his bed with him). She tore up the kitchen walls (she might have heard or smelled something in them), the curtains, and stuff on the counters. And one evening she snuck into a lady staff member's room and stole her pantyhose, then proceeded to play "keep away" (there was a fancy staff dinner that evening).

It's probably about the ability to cope with boredom, which has to do with how well the brain manufactures and processes dopamine. There are very few situations in the wild where dealing with boredom would be a necessary survival skill. Poor doggie on the other hand.... Spending hours looking out the window or napping while waiting for his people to come home.

Anyway, chewing on the trampoline pad is perfectly normal... for a fox. I thought the lady was gonna yell out the door to scare it off.

Ephraim, that was an awesome video. I loved it! Thanks for posting the link.
