This seemed to be related to an update that occurred last night. An authentication config file had been overwritten (instead of patched), and the customizations done that allowed the Ensim chroot'd environments to authenticate were removed. I've restored the original file, patched in the changes, and restarted the authentication service.
Though I was able to send a message successfully through authenticated SMTP at home, this is another test to make sure it worked. |

Unless anyone else notices this error, I'm marking this issue as resolved. |

Will the PM's I sent during the problem get to their desired location? _________________ AKA Skoon

Private Messages are sent regardless of whether SMTP is working or not, just like regular messages. The notification to the user (PM) or subscribers (topic) will not be sent, since the SMTP server was unreachable. |
