I'm somewhat of a self proclaimed righter. Some people I say I'm great at telling stories.

It isn't what I'd call Pulitzer prize material really, but it is a good start. So I decided that instead of continuing it, I thought of doing a series of short stories using it as a setting to create a unique world. Multiple stories could tell an epic tale made of smaller parts. which is the philosophy of the whole original, that all great things come form the smaller parts that make them up.

Well with that said, I might as well give a point to it. what do you people think? Should I continue the original or move on to a bigger part?

Your the writer of that world. The weaver of its fate. ONly you can select the path it's destined for and how you goabout doing it. You are the write and onloy you can make a decision like that.

On a more direct note I think that since your just starting out with your writing short stories would be a great idea for you. no sence in overdoing your first project with a novel on your first try. The short stories will help you hesh out a type of style unique to you. theyre about discovering your tallents. So go for it. Move to shorter stories then worry about expanding on the original later.
