Hello. Man, we furries are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. I was looking for the Descent 1 music on the Descent network... and it had a link to your old website which had a link to your new website which had a link to this forum...

Personally I'm amazed. But it's kinda complicated how I got here... I was looking for the copywrite information on track 10 "Haunted" of Descent 2... then I decided to download the Descent 1 midi tracks... then I wanted to get the download to the source of Descent 1... then I found your site, which had an ancient tutorial on 3dfx...

What amazes me even more, is that this forum has a spot for 3d furry artists, something I do.

So... here I am. And I wanted to say hi.

My art is on http://howitzer.deviantart.com/

My last 3d furry work is
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/Howitzer/wolfside10.jpg

And this is right after I found another 3d werewolf artist on deviant art. So right now I'm kinda excited.

Hey there! Nice to see another furry around. Smile And another person to harken from the Descent days - man, that was a great game. Smile

Sorry it took me so long to reply to you here - I wasn't ignoring you, but I don't check this forum all that often (not much activity here), and it doesn't notify me when people post new topics - just when people reply to existing ones. Razz

Anyway, cool stuff! Smile Welcome, and have fun!

Hehe, as a fellow Descent fanboy, I can't help but leave a comment here:

The Descent 1 and 2 music selections are two of my absolute video game soundtracks: Currently, only the Descent II tracks are available via the Descent Network, but I'll be more than happy to rip the D1 redbook for ya' - just drop me a PM if you're interested Smile

Also, regarding "Haunted": The version on the redbook is actually an abridged version of Type O Negative's 10-minute masterpiece from their album "October Rust" (I have the album if you're looking for specific copyright info) - If you're interested in that, let me know as well Smile

Cheers!

Incidentally, I used to have most of the D1 and D2 MIDIs on my website for download. If there's much interest in them, I can put them back up. (I had filtered out the MIDIs I didn't like from D1.)

Coolbeans!

I have found an OpenGL executable for Descent 1 called DX1 http://www.xmission.com/~jstanley/d1x.html ... it is very nice to play the old game with 3d accellerated mipmapping. If you want to try it out download it and make a batch file *.bat in the descent directory that has the following in it for the best results...

d1x143_oglmw.exe -gl_mipmap -fullscreen

I currently play the game to pass the time when I have nothing else to do. Smile
