As for all the complaints about movies that are based on books, comic books, games, etc. heres the problem, ALL Ideas have already been used, plus why bother gambling on an untested concept rather whn you can just make a movie that people will come and see because it's based on a succesful franchise.

Exactly. There is more or less nothing that hasn't been done yet. That's also where there are so many covers around in the music world these days. Plus only now technology has been getting to the point where it is possible to turn comics etc. into movies in a convincing way.

Hate to brake the news to ya but Hollywood makes way too much money on the movie sources you list.

Top grossing movie of all time world wide - Titanic, both a sappy romantic story and based on real events. 1.8 Billion dollars, that's "B" as in billions.

Lord of the Rings, Return of the King Based on a book, 1.1 billion, total for all three movies 3 Billion.. yes billions.

Harry Potter movies, slightly under 3 billion

Jurassic Park, based on a novel by Michel Criton $920 million (almost a billion) just for the first movie, another billion for the other movies

Shrek and Shrek 2, based on a book as well 1.4 billion

Spider-Man and Spider-man 2 based on a comic book $1.4 billion

Forrest Gump, based on a book $679 million

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl based on a freakin amusment park ride $652 million

Men in Black and Men in Black 2 based on a comic book almost $1 billion

Mission Impossible 1 and 2 based on an old TV show; a little over $1 billion.

Batman Franchise, based on a comic book, Billions

Anyway, here is the list.. as you can see, it may be crap but it s crap that makes money.. lots of money. http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/records/worldwide.html

You know what? That idea sounds so ridiculously absurd it HAS to be good. Like Bubble Bobble.

I enjoyed these three movies a lot. Especially Resident Evil. What again proves that I am still the last person on the planet that watches a movie to be entertained.

Hey! Every film I've ever seen - I've watched to be entertained. I was just particularly annoyed at these because ... I wasn't. In the slightest. XD

My friends and I once held a zombie night.

First up was the new Dawn of the Dead. Fun Fun.

Then Resident Evil 2. We all fell asleep. Honestly, that movie barely had any zombies in it...

Well you have to remember. The reason they are making movies out of other stuff like games and comics is to pretty much liven them up. If you ever notice right after a movie made off a comic the acual comic book is put back on the shelves enforced.
