Hi y'all. I completely missed this thread... Smile

You can get a Second Life account using a debit card if it is a Visa or Mastercard check/debit card. Unfortunatly they usually take a few days to arrive when you sign up so it would likely be too late (some banks are instant issue, you can check) for this promotion but still you can open account with the minimum deposit (usually $25) and have essentually a credit card.

Uncle Tex can't discuss this here cence this is a PG-13 fourm.
Please continue this discussion via IM.
*wink*

<Meaning I do know where and cant discuss here Razz >

Actually, according to the rules and I quote :

6. Language, imagery, and behavior shall be kept to a rating of PG-13 or lower at all times. This is a family/child friendly forum, so maintaining proper warnings for content judged as "Not Safe for Work", or "Parental Discretion Advised" is not only recommended, but will be expected.

There is no reason why a link cannot be posted as long as there is a warning placed saying it is an adult link/not work safe link. As long as no profanity or naughty images are placed in the forums themselves. It has been that way for years and if that has changed, it needs to be placed in the forum rules.

That being said, I have some screen shots from Second Life both adult and non-adult on my VCL account. *Warning: VCL is not worksafe and contains adult material!* Just look up Kathmandu.

Do you know why PayPal doesn't seem to work? I have a PayPal Mastercard, but when I tried to use it it wouldn't work. Sad I gotta wait a month to use a card with my bank again since I had problems before. It stinks.

Hmmm, have you tried calling their billing support number and asking? I have no idea why myself. There may be legal resons

It may stem from PayPals adult content policy, but that is just a guess.

I sent an email but I haven't heard back. I didn't realize Second Life could be considered a violation of PayPals adult thing or I wouldn't have even tried using my PayPal card. But, all I know is that when I tried to fill out the Credit Card info section, I would put my card number in and all that, but when I hit submit *or continue, whatever it said* it would tell me it couldn't authorize my card. Sad

Well, Second Life is not specifically an adult game but you have the freedom to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't negatively affect other residents or isn't against the terms of service. So, much like real life you aren't allowed to display adult material in the open, you can do anything you want behind closed doors ( in mature areas that is) so legally, Paypal's adult ban may be considered in force. You must also be over 18 to sign up.

I would suggest calling, emails can take a weekor more to be returned..

I figured out what's wrong. It's trying to take a temp. fee of a dollar, and I don't have a dollar in my paypal account. Not sure how to get it, either. A friend as I type, thinks he's helping, but he's just pissing me off. He's explaining how I can put money in the bank and transfer it over, but I can't do that with my bank account barely useable. Hopefully someone from my livejournal will donate me the dollar.

Wheee! ^_^ Thank you both of you. I just got my account set up. Now I just have to hope I can get it to run on this computer, or else I'll have to wait to play until I can get my own computer working again.

When you register they will take 1 dollar temporarily, to help confirm that your card is real. After awhile they give the dollar back. I had that happen the first time I got free fabric swatches. They had to make sure my card was real and everything, so they took a dollar and gave it back a week or two later. Other then that temporary one dollar, though, there shouldn't be any charges for the basic account.

Is it visa or mastercard? If not either then that would explain why.
