Silly version? Do you happen to have a pic of it?
Anyway, the Vulture is an omnimech, what means that by the rules of Battletech it's realively eary to refit with almost every kind of weapon or other equipment, making it possible that a version can look VERY different than the primary configuration, of which pics of the mech usually are.
For example, there is a configuration of the Vulture that has no missile launchers at all. In the description of the Mech in the Technical Readout 3052 it is written that they almost classified it as another Mech until they noticed that it actually is a Vulture variation.
That also means that every variation of the vultire is official, unless some things like the engine, the armor and a few other things stay unchanged. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

Here is a pic of it. It is also that one in that BT music video that you had up a while back. _________________ ~Sammie the Pizza Box

Ah, thanks. I suspected that it was that one.
Well, it looks like a version with smaller missile launchers and more direct-fire weapons (lasers, autocannons ect.). Helps if an enemy gets close or you run out of ammunition. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

Those two small lasers on that nose turret can swivel. I seem to recall that even an Omnimech has to have a place to put these things. And I don't remember the Vulture ever having an attachment point for one of those. _________________ ~Sammie the Pizza Box

Sorry, I don't know the turret rules. They weren't out yet for a few years when the Vulture was created so at least the basic model won't have a attachment point. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

Actually there are more along the lines of 400-500 official Mechs, if you count all variants and all fluff text versions.
Turret rules are nominally Level 3, although in practice they're level 2 and you put them where you dern well please.
Tygon, that first variant you were referring to is a Mad Dog C. Carries dual Gauss rifles, 32 rounds of ammo, and that's it. And is was 3050.

One way to think of the MW4 mechs, being bulkier and refitted, is as Inner Sphere-produced models of the Clan OmniMechs. The Wolf's Dragoons have the capacity to produce Clan OmniMechs in limited numbers; this would explain the frequency of Clan Mechs in units not typically considered 'front-line' (i.e.: some of the units in the MW4 plotline.)
Yes, Javelin is primarily an SRM boat. 3025 version carries dual SRM-6; 3050 has one SRM-6 and dual Streak-2s.

A 5 oz bird cannot carry a 1 pound coconut.
It's not a question of where he grips it, it's a simple matter of weight ratios. ^.^ _________________ ~Sammie the Pizza Box

Great Ghost in the Machine, you people act like we were going off topic on purpose to stop all discussions about Sabrina. I'm sorry but discussions tend to go of topic. That's the nature of such discussions.
And besides, we set up this topic for JBird's Battletech story and I think it belonged here because it featured Sabrina. We can ask Whip or Maxx to move it to EBB if you don't want that here.
Honestly, no harm was meant with going of topic. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

Before anyone gets upset, and storms off in a huff...like I did a little bit ago...I have an explanation!
The SOTS forum and the Tabitha forum should be used for exploration into the common threads the Sabrinaverse has, or the differences that the individual writers bring forth. I chopped to this topic as we saw that the discussion was pretty much being taken over by BT/MW tech. Very little was being discussed about the Sabrinaverse. Some very fine furs here attempted to bring the change about by gently nudging us to return to the original topic. Hence the creation of this one. However!!!! We continue our tech discussions with no real return to a Sabby based discussion. I had to go back a few to remember when the last time it was that we discussed Sabby at all. It was when a Lancemate was proposed for Sabby. Thats it. Since then we have discussed Mechs and what world they belong in. Of course, my silly attempts at humor too.
Here is what I have proposed. I am going to have this topic moved to my forum, and we will keep the Tabitha and SOTS pretty much in the manner in which they were opened. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome the tech discussions and the happy world of BT/MW to my forum.
Fishburne
oh yeah. One more thing...

I had a chat with Fishburne this morning and we go out what was bothering me. Something my short post could not do. I promise to try and keep better control in the future. Fish has stated better than I what the problem was and for his understanding I thank him. |
It takes a really big fur to admit and appologize for a mistake done. This is a case where cooler heads do prevail. |

Yes, that's the one. I could have looked it up myself but I was lazy
And that it was in 3050 is only particially right, since 3050 never was produced in Germany.
Instead there was 3052 which combined the Mechs from 3050 with the aerospace fighters from 3055.
Don't ask me why they did that, though because I have no idea _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

The reason as to why I do not add to this one, which aint fear of posting as somebody asked in a PM, is my lack of knowledge in this area. I predate to the early Robot-Tech days, and I know things have changed since then.
Just adding my 2cents. |
