Greetings!

The car, for those who can't recognise it, is a Citroén BX Estate, 16TZI (1.6L Gasoline Injection), 1992 model.
It's actually my third citroén...
I started with the venerable GS(1975 model, 1.2L air-cooled Boxer engine with alloy cylinder tops), continued with the CX( 1984 model, 2.0L straight 4)

After you've driven a Citroén, you'll NEVER want to drive anything else...

The only other car I could imagine driving is the 4WD version...
(It's VERY difficult to get hold of on the second-hand market)

I can vouch for that -- sadly, the Citroens are almost unknown here in the US. Pity; they're some of the best-built cars I've ever seen. I would happily fork out the money it would cost me for one, since they last almost forever and have great performance.

I don't like Citroen but I guess that's because the only one I ever rode in was more or less falling apart (lasting forever - ha!).

I guess that kinda scared me of.

Strange...
That fits the description of my first two...

The GS was scrapped when the oil-cooler burst.
Why scrap it because of that ONE detail?
It was placed right on top of the motor and you had to remove the carburetor(Did I spell that right?) to get to it. On top of that, the oil stilled over the clutch(Which had taken me a whole day to replace only a few months before) AND the brake discs... (The discs are 'dinner-plate' sized and placed as close as you can get them to the gearbox. Makes for easy maintenance, since you only have to lift out the spare wheel to check them )

the CX...
First the oil-return hose burst and I spilled 4Liters of EXPENSIVE hydraulic fluid, then the water pump died. All that was easily fixed, but then...
Something must have happened with the oil level indicator, because it was still in the green when the engine... (Use the dip-stick? Why, when there's a gauge on the dashboard)

I'm VERY careful with the BX...
These cars CAN last a lifetime, but only if you keep them well maintained.
(They DO NOT like abuse or neglect)

Ah, there's the difference - my father and I shared maintainence on it. In fact, 'twas there I learned car maintainence. As I said, I would happily switch to a Citroen, particularly after owning two Fords and now a Mercury - decent enough vehicles, but you have to be a left-handed, double-jointed spider monkey with a host of specialized tools to do anything more than change the oil. (I can manage left-handed, but the rest is beyond me.)

You obviously never tried to change spark-plugs on a GS...
(Remember, BOXER motor, the cylinders are horizontal.)

On anoter note, I remember once, the right-hand rear tire blew...
(Exploded, really)
The tire came into contact with the outer panel and was ripped to shreds.
I was doing 60Km/H just then, but the only thing I noticed, beside the loud bang, was a slight vibration in the car.
The suspension managed to dampen the rest...

The CX, though, was supposedly able to drive on 3 wheels, assuming that the missing wheel was one of the rear ones. (The rear 'axle' is 14cm shorter than the front axle)

There's nearly a dozen or so down here for sale Galadrion. Most of them are fully restored, don't know why they look fine enough unrestored to me. But I'll take a Stude Silver Hawk anyday of the week.....or a Stude Avanti nice sleek little cars those are two. Very Happy

::Chuckle:: I'll agree on both of those; two more tiemless designs from Raymond Lowy (for you railroad buffs, he also did the GG1).
